This instructional educational  video is kindly shared by my colleague and regenerative therapy specialist and instructor, Dr. Jose Barreto, MD. He and I were among the group of doctors and support staff in 2013, in the small mountain town of Olanchito, Honduras, one of three sites served by the Hackett Hemwall Patterson Foundation.

The video describes the basis for prolotherapy, a natural means of inducing the body’s own healing mechanisms for many orthopedic and sports medicine injuries causing chronic recurrent pain. This powerful tool is our primary means of interventional pain management used to treat patients in Olanchito, Honduras, working with the Hackett Hemwall Patterson Foundation.

If you are interested in helping with this medical outreach project in Honduras sponsored by the Hackett-Hemwall Patterson Foundation (affiliated with the University of Wisconsin), please contact me at my office. For many Hondurans, this is their only access to medical care for chronic pain and orthopedic conditions. The gratitude from the people of Honduras expressed was overwhelming.
